Tucked away in the heart of Sapphire, North Carolina, Paw Paw Creations began with a simple longing—to bring a splash of personal joy and mountain magic to local yards and outdoor spaces. The story truly takes shape in the steady hands of Iric, who has spent decades shaping the very foundation of Sapphire, NC through the roads, bridges, and homes that many neighbors cherish today. His deep love for the surrounding mountains runs through everything he creates, whether it's assembling a custom pond or crafting a sturdy, handcrafted sculpture. By his side is Dawn Marie, a lifelong artist and Master Gardener whose colorful eye and creative spark were honed in gardens and studios far and near. Moving to Sapphire, she was ready for something new, blending her painting, photography, and marketing skills to capture the vibrant spirit of Western North Carolina in every hand-painted piece.
Their adventure sprouted from their own backyard—a sprawling six-acre property in Sapphire, NC, now transformed into a living, breathing outdoor gallery where every flower bed and water feature reflects a piece of their journey. Together, Dawn and Iric welcome visitors from Sapphire and the surrounding areas, listening, sharing ideas, and collaborating on gardens and outdoor projects that feel truly personal. It’s a heartfelt partnership built on craftsmanship, local experience, and a commitment to making outdoor living more meaningful for every mountain neighbor. The ever-growing family of Paw Paw Creations invites you to wander their land, ask questions, and dream up outdoor spaces that truly feel like home.
We’re proud to share a special piece of Iric’s story—a park pavilion right here in Sapphire that was named in his honor. It reflects so many years of showing up, lending a hand, and being someone the community could always count on.
